 SWAMPDOGS Rugby Union NT Inc was formed in 1986, the primary aim of the club is the development of rugby union through training and coaching .The Club home ground and training venue is at Fred's Pass Reserve, in the Litchfield Shire Council. Swampdogs compete in the Darwin Rugby Union competition and fields teams in all junior age groups as well as a senior team in the Bgrade competition.
The club promotes rugby values of team spirit, and sportsmanship while striving to provide quality, safe rugby in a fun family atmosphere. All players, families, and supporters have the opportunity to form strong friendships, develop their confidence and leadership skills, and nuture a sense of belonging and pride. The club actively encourages maximum participation by all members, and the dedicated volunteers are testament to this, giving their time freely to encourage young people in the rural area to embrace the game of rugby union. In 2012 Swampdogs hope to build on a highly successful 25th anniversary year, developing the skills of volunteers and players and completing the major works on the clubs new field.
